Mubadala Development Company became a shareholder of Piaggio Aero Industries S.p.A. in 2006 and currently holds a 31.5% shareholding in the company, which is managed by Mubadala Aerospace.
Piaggio, which is a leading aeronautics firm specializing in the production of executive aircraft, engine parts and structural components, has key production plants in Northwest Italy, with service centers in Genoa and Rome. It is the only company in the world that is active in the design, construction and maintenance of both aircraft and aircraft engines and is one of the oldest global aeroplane manufacturers.
Our investment in Piaggio is part of a strategy to contribute to the ongoing development of a global aerospace hub in Abu Dhabi.
