Advanced Micro Devices (AMD)
Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), in which Mubadala holds a 19.3 percent stake, is a US-based, multinational semiconductor company that develops computer processors and related technologies for commercial and consumer electronics markets. It is the world’s second largest supplier of microprocessors and the third largest supplier of graphics processing units.
In addition to Mubadala’s shareholding in AMD, the Advanced Technology Investment Company (ATIC) of Abu Dhabi co-owns with AMD, Global Foundries, a global foundry company with manufacturing facilities in Singapore, Dresden and New York (under development).
