Dolphin Energy

The US$ 4.8 billion Dolphin Energy gas project, in which we are the majority shareholder with 51 percent, is the first cross-border natural gas network in the GCC and one of the Gulf’s largest energy investments. The remaining 49 percent is held equally between Total and Occidental Petroleum Corporation.
Gas is brought onshore at the Ras Laffan processing plant in northern Qatar and then stripped and exported via a 364 km export line to the Taweelah Receiving Facilities in the United Arab Emirates. From here, it is distributed to power generation and water desalination plants throughout the United Arab Emirates and Oman.

A US$ 4.1 billion financing deal for Dolphin was successfully closed in 2009.
